Roald Dahl’s deliciously dark tale bursts onto the Idaho Falls Frontier Center for the Performing Arts stage this November in a whirlwind of pure imagination. Complete with dazzling chocolate waterfalls, marzipan mushrooms, and the mischievous Oompa-Loompas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory blends David Greig’s witty script with Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman’s toe-tapping score to deliver a treat for every generation. Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre’s fall productions have become a family tradition, and this year’s journey into Willy Wonka’s wondrous world promises the spectacle, heart, and humor that audiences expect - plus a few secret ingredients we can’t reveal just yet. Whether you grew up humming “The Candy Man” or you’re meeting Charlie Bucket for the very first time, prepare for a theatrical sugar rush that celebrates curiosity, kindness, and the magic of dreaming big.
Performances run November 14–15 & 17–19, 2025, and the search for our own “golden-ticket” cast begins soon. Watch IFYAC.org and our social channels for audition dates, volunteer sign-ups, and behind-the-scenes peeks at set designs sweeter than a Scrumptious Swudge Bar. From pit-orchestra players and prop builders to front-of-house greeters, there’s a role for everyone eager to sprinkle a little sparkle on this community confection. Mark your calendars, dust off your top hats, and get ready to step through the factory gates - because in Idaho Falls this fall, the chocolate dreams of Dahl’s classic come gloriously to life.
